Five-Day Panchanhika Festival to Begin on December 12 at Sarak Bhavan, Madhuban

Jharkhand Spirit : Madhuban, the renowned Jain pilgrimage site, is set to host the Panchanhika Festival at Sarak Bhavan from December 12. The five-day celebration will primarily mark the birth anniversary (Janma Kalyanak) of Bhagwan Parshvanath. Preparations for the festival have been finalized, and devotees from various regions are expected to participate. The event will commence on December 12 with Bhagwat Darshan and a collective recitation of the Bhaktamar Stotra. Throughout the festival, which will continue until December 16, daily rituals such as Bhagwat Darshan , evening prayers, and aarti will be performed. According to Kajal Sarak, an office bearer of Sarak Bhavan, the festival is being organized to celebrate the auspicious birth of Bhagwan Parshvanath. A special puja will be held on Paush Dashami. During this period, many devotees will observe ekasna —a traditional practice in which participants consume food only once a day, in a single sitting, for three consecutive days....

Madhuban Gears Up for Grand Chhath Celebrations

Jharkhand Spirit, Deepak Mishra : Madhuban, a well-known pilgrimage site for followers of Jainism, is witnessing preparations for the upcoming Chhath festival in full swing. The cleaning and beautification work at the Chhath Ghat is being carried out on a war footing to ensure a smooth celebration. According to the Chhath Puja Committee , a detailed strategy has been prepared for the cleaning and decoration of the ghat, and work is progressing as per the plan. The river is being cleaned using JCB machines , while workers are engaged in cleaning not only the ghat area but also the approach roads leading to it. Every year, in addition to the Chhath Ghat, the main road from Madhuban to the ghat is thoroughly cleaned to ensure that devotees offering arghya (holy offerings to the Sun God) face no inconvenience during the festival. Jitiya Vrat Begins with Traditional Fervor; Nirjala Fast to be Observed on 14th September

  Jharkahnd Spirit, Deepak Mishra : The auspicious Jitiya Vrat , also known as Jivitputrika Vrat , has commenced today, 13th September , with the sacred ritual of Nahay Khay . This three-day festival, observed primarily in Bihar , Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh is dedicated to the well-being and long life of children. On 14th September , women will undertake a strict Nirjala Vrat , a fast without food or water, as they offer prayers to Jimutvahan and Cheel Siyarin —divine figures symbolizing sacrifice and maternal protection. The festival is rooted in deep spiritual belief, tracing its origins back to the Mahabharata era .
